We always welcome highly-motivated English-speaking students, interns, post-docs, engineers, visiting professors from all over the World (working language in UNIDAPT Group is English) for short-term and long-term collaboration, visits and internships. We are interested in collaborative software developments. We often have short-term internship positions for local students from Paris region (ENS, Paris South University, UVSQ, etc).
The candidates must have a strong first degree in Computer Science or Engineering, good level of mathematics and statistics (knowing machine learning concepts is a plus), a strong interest in UNIDAPT/cTuning research topics and publications, should be familiar with cTuning developments, have a very good level of spoken and written English. If you already have your own scholarship or funding, it is a big plus! Candidates should be VERY SELF-MOTIVATED and familiar with UNIDAPT/cTuning publications and software tools.
Also, bear in mind that we are not interested in just publishing myriads of similar papers, but in either a very novel research for the longer term future or in obtaining real practical results, producing open-source tools or supporting available infrastructure for collaborative R&D useful to the community. Therefore, candidates should a;sp have strong skills in programming and system administration. We often use C, C++, Fortran, PHP, CCC framework, cTuning CC, MILEPOST GCC, Java, MySQL, R, OProfile, Linux development tools, Intel tools, Weka, GCC, LLVM, etc.
Finally, if you contact us for the first time, please avoid sending general chain application letters, but tell us why would you like to work with us, which UNIDAPT/cTuning papers did you read and which R&D topic would you like to work on/extend with us ;) ...
Here is brief information about some sources of funding for collaborations and visits:

- for HiPEAC members: we can apply for HiPEAC funding which covers visits of students from HiPEAC institutions to our group (from several weeks to several months);
- for North-America: NFS has agreements with some French institutions to fund bi-lateral exchanges - you have to check it yourself before contacting us;
- for Russia: Russian government has agreements with some French institutions to fund bi-lateral exchanges - you have to check it yourself before contacting us;
- for others: UVSQ or Paris South University have bi-lateral agreements with various countries.
